HOME AFFAIRS MINISTER TO ADDRESS PUBLIC AT KHUBELU

In an effort to combat the rampant crime rate, particularly stock theft which is alarming in the country, the Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Motsoahae Thabane  is engaged in a series of awareness campaigns.

According to the Chief Information Officer in the  Ministry of Home Affairs, Miss Hape Marumo,  Minister Thabane will convene a public gathering at Khubelu in Mokhotlong on Wednesday. The purpose of the gathering is to conscientise the community about the danger of stock theft, of  which he said contributes to dagga smuggling as people exchange dagga  with stolen animals.

Miss Marumo said the minister will also address parents to warn their children, especially herdboys on how to protect themselves against the HIV/AIDS, as it has been realised that youth are the most affected sector of the community because of lack of knowledge. She said, the gatherings, which started in September last year were
held in different places such as Mosalemane and  Bela-Bela in Berea, Mahobong and Peka in Leribe, Matebeng in Qacha'snek and Hloahloeng in Mohale'shoek.

This will  be the third gathering in Mokhotlong, and the first was held at 'Malefiloane in November last year and Bafali in February this year.
