1. THE STOPPAGE OF THE
REGULAR AND ROUTINE REFERRALS OF PATIENTS TO BLOEMFONTEIN

by the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
Cabinet approved:
(a) That the regular and routine referrals of patients to hospitals in
Bloemfontein for check-ups be stopped;
(b) That a detailed assessment be made concerning capacity of the
available facilities in the country to undertake most specialist
interventions and to address human resource capacity building;
(c) That the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare, or a
person designated by him, be authorized to facilitate negotiations with
South Africa in order to review and to update collaboration with the Free
State Province regarding Health Services.
