Her Majesty Queen 'Masenate Mohato Bereng Seeiso officially opened the newly erected gates of the Machabeng College  on Monday 25 November,2002. Speaking at the occasion, the Queen extended her gratitude to six companies, namely the Ashocor Holdings, Security Unlimited, Thaseb Stone Works, Vision Clinic, Willies Security and BB Alert Security for donating the building materials which were used in building the new perimeter and the gates of Machabeng College.

"This is a clear demonstration of the good support of the Machabeng friends and it is my hope that this generous action will spill over to other donors of goodwill to also support this school which has an excellent reputation." She said, and awarded the owners of the donor companies with the Letters of Thanks on behalf of the entire community of the Machabeng College and also on her own behalf as the Patron of the school.

Speaking at the same occasion, Mr. Christopher Philip, the Headmaster of the Machabeng College said that they were very happy that Her Majesty as their patron and the alumni of the Machabeng College was able to come to witness and show gratitude at the opening of their new gates. He also thanked the donor companies for the great support they have provided to their college. Machabeng College was first established in 1977.
