The Commander of the Lesotho Defense Force (LDF) Lieutenant General Makhula Mosakeng held a closed session of talks with the visiting Indian army chief of staff Major General S.K Jamwal on Tuesday 24 September,2002 at Ha Ratjomose barracks. He stated that the ongoing training of members of LDF by the Indian team, which has been glorified by the visit of Major General Jamwal, brings a challenge for the LDF to send its members to India for special force training that they can get from the country.
He further presented some presents to the visiting Indian army chief of staff, which he said were an indication of his and the Lesotho army's appreciation of his visit.

In response, Major General Jamwal said he has leant that members of the Lesotho Defense Force have improved their standard through the training that they had with the assistance of the Indian army team. He noted that the LDF's fitness brings a challenge for them to participate at international military intervention activities particularly those that are meant to restore peace in the world. He also presented two trophies to the LDF commander, which he described as a symbol of appreciating what he called a warm acceptance within the country's army.

Major General Jamwal also inspected the LDF guard of honor that assembled at LDF parade grounds. He is also expected to visit the LDF computer center at Makoanyane barracks. He arrived on Sunday and is expected to leave the country on Wednesday following his visit in the country to learn about the progress achieved on the ongoing LDF training by the Indian army team.
