In order to bring passport services closer to the people of Semonkong as well as to the people living in the neighbouring maluti areas of the districts of Qacha’s nek, Quthing, Mohale’s Hoek and Mafeteng, the Department of Immigration and Passport services will open a District Passport office in Semonkong this week. Until now, the people of Semonkong had to travel to Maseru to apply for passports while the people living in the surrounding maluti areas of the districts of Qacha’s nek, Quthing and Mohale’ s Hoek and Mafeteng had to travel long distances to the urban centres of their respective districts. The Minister of Home Affairs, the Honourable Motsoahae Thabane will participate in a short launching ceremony of the new passport office at Semonkong on Saturday, 6 July 02. Among other Government officials who will be present at the ceremony are the Deputy Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs Mr T’seliso Ncholu, the Maseru District Secretary Mr. Mpopo T’soele and the Deputy Director of the Department of Immigration and Passport Services Mrs. ‘Madomela Domela 03 JULY 2002 | |
