LIKUENA WRAPS UP PREPARATIONS IN SWAZILAND

Lesotho's senior national side Likuena wrapped up its preparations for the African Cup of Nations (ACN) qualifier against Gambia on Sunday 13, October 2002 with a goalless draw against Isihlangu of Swaziland. The two Southern African kingdoms played at Somhlolo stadium last Sunday 06 October,2002 with Likuena heading for the western side of the continent. In an interview, the Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) Administrative Secretary Mr. Sello Lesita said the local side would leave on Monday to Gambia.

Likuena are expected to win convincingly against the unknown Gambia to keep their hopes of making a debut in the Tunisia 2004 alive. The local side showed much improvement after losing by a slim 0-1 margin in its first clash against the continent's soccer giants Senegal, who had made history in the Korea/Japan 2002 world cup by being the only African nation to reach the quarterfinal stage.

Likuena's group consists of only three nations of Lesotho, Senegal and
Gambia following the last minute withdrawal of Sao Tome.
