The Special Olympics Lesotho has selected two soccer teams made up of mentally disabled youth from Leribe and Mafeteng as national teams that will represent Lesotho at the African Special Olympics games to be held in Namibia in November.
The two teams were selected during the national special Olympic games which were held at Setsoto Stadium last weekend where the Leribe team won a gold medal in the boys division and the Mafeteng team on the other hand won a gold medal in the girls division, and therefore qualified for selection to the national teams.

At the same games, a team of two girls: Violet Makhele of Maseru and Rethabile Thamae of Mohale's Hoek, and two boys: Keketso Manyo of Maseru and Tebalo Komane of Mafeteng, were also selected for participation in Individual Skills Competitions which will also take place in Namibia as part of the African Special Olympic Games. The four players qualified for selection to the team after revealing their best abilities in dribbling, shooting and run and kick categories of individual skills games.

The African Special Olympic Games will take place in Namibia from November
