LESOTHO SENDS CONDOLENCES TO BOTSWANA ON THE DEATH OF MOTHER RUTH KHAMA

  Lesotho King Letsie III has sent a message of condolences to the President of Botswana, Festus Mogae, on the death of Mother Lady Ruth Khama who passed away on 23 May 2002.

The message expresses heartfelt condolences and sympathies to President Mogae, the bereaved family of Khama and the entire Botswana nation.

King Letsie III notes that, the passing away of Mother Khama is a great loss to President Mogae, the family of Lady Khama, Government and People of Botswana as well as the Southern African region.

A  message of condolences by Lesotho Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili to President Mogae notes that, the death of Mother Khama is not only a loss to the Government and people of Botswana, but to Africa as a whole.

Condolences by Prime Minister Mosisili (this) addressed to the Vice-President of Botswana, Ian Khama says, the death has deprived this subcontinent, one of the most outstanding mothers who cared and sacrificed all she had for everyone; adding that, the people should however, thank God for the grace bestowed upon them for all the years they shared with Mother Khama in her lifetime. 

Lesotho Queen mother 'Mamohato Bereng Seeiso and delegation leave Lesotho for Serowe, Botswana on Friday, 31 May to attend the funeral of Lady Khama on Saturday, 01 June. Lesotho Government Minister of Foreign Affairs Motsoahae Thabane, who is part of the delegation leaves ahead, Thursday, 30. 

The late Mother Khama is the wife of the late and first President of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama.
