The Lesotho Dance Sport Association (LDSA) will establish sub communities for coaching and marketing, at the workshop to beheld at the Lesotho College of Education (LCE) on August
10, 2002. A press statement issued by LDSA says the workshop is also aimed at
gathering ideas from dance teachers and administrators, who will form thecore of the programme of action of the association.
The statement indicates that since the establishment of the association
three months ago, the association has participated in various sporting
ceremonies such as the Olympic Day run that was held last month in
Teyateyaneng.
LDSA further calls upon youth to rise up to the challenge against drugs
abuse, alcohol and HIV/AIDS by dedicating their time and energy to dance
sport and other sporting disciplines. The association also urges schools to open doors so that they can work in
partnership with the association to make their pupils better sportsmen and women as well as worthy citizens of Lesotho.
According to the statement, the association aims to foster the sport of
ballroom and Latin American dances in Lesotho by assisting athletes to
attain and maintain a high standard of dance theoretically and practically.
The new sporting association for ballroom and Latin American dances,
Lesotho Dance Sport Association was formed in April with the aim of
producing quality dancers, who can become professional and qualified dance
teachers.
