LCD VISITS COMMUNIST PARTY IN CHINA
 

A delegation of members of the ruling party, Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) is currently in China on a party to party mission to strengthen the existing relations between the LCD and the ruling party in China.

 In an interview with (Lesotho News Agency) LENA, the Deputy Secretary General of the LCD, Mr. Motlohi Moeno indicated that during the visit, the LCD delegates would discuss with their counterparts issues of good governance, especially how to manage a ruling party as well as to how it should relate with the government as a party. Mr. Moeno further stated that his party, among others would also negotiate the communist party of China the issue of scholarship for members of the party, who wish to extend their studies to higher levels of education.

The party’s Secretary General, Mr. Sephiri Motanyane, heads the LCD delegation, together with the chair person of the party’s woman’s league, Mrs ‘Maboiketlo Maliehe, the president of youth league, Mr. Matooane Mokhosi and the editor of the party’s weekly news paper, Mr. Monyane Moleleki. The delegation left the country on the weekend of 29/30 June, 2002 and it is expected to spend about two weeks in China.
