INTERNATIONAL HIV/AIDS CYCLE TO ARRIVE IN LESOTHO
 
The International HIV/AIDS Relay Cycle which took off in Mozambique, last week is expected to reach Lesotho through the Maseru boarder gate on September 18, this year. In an interview, the cycle Coordinator for Lesotho, Mrs. Manthethe Monethi said on arrival in the country the international cyclists who will have by then cycled through nine counties of the Southern Africa region from Mozambique, will be met by 30 national cyclists in  Maseru. Mrs. Monethi indicated that all the cyclists will then gather at Pitso ground where King Letsie will be expected to welcome them and address Basotho youth and other people who will have also gathered at the ground on HIV/AIDS.

At the event messages on HIV/AIDS prevention will be spread through speeches by some of the prominent people in the government, people infected by the disease and the cyclists, and also through posters, banners and fliers. There will also be entertainment by traditional groups to make the event more interesting.

The cycle will continue the following day to Durban, South Africa. The International HIV/AIDS Relay Cycle is an annual HIV/AIDS awareness event organised by the World Vision with the aim of reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS  in the Southern region of Africa. Lesotho will be participating for the first time in the cycle, this year.
