IEC DISTRIBUTES SECURED ELECTION MATERIAL
 
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is currently distributing secured election material to different polling stations in preparation for constituency elections to be conducted on Saturday.

In an interview, the area election officer, Mrs Neo Mphiri said the material is distributed to 37 polling stations of the constituency and it include ballot boxes, ballot papers and ink for marking fingers. She said the distribution is conducted smoothly in the presence of police, adding that other materials that include steel boxes, tables, chairs and stationary were distributed last week.

She further said polling staff, party agents and the police would guard the material by sleeping at polling stations and to prepare for voting process, which is expected to start at 0700 hours tomorrow.

Interviewed villagers said they are happy and ready to cast their votes in the constituency elections that will enable them to vote for their representative in parliament. The elections are held following the death of the Christian Democratic party candidate who died before the May general elections.
