OFFICE OF FIST LADY TO HOLD WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN LEADERS
 


The Office of the First Lady will hold a workshop on Civic Education and Community Leadership for women community leaders in Thaba-Tseka at Mountain Star hotel next week. In an interview with Lesotho News Agency (LENA), the Administration Manager of the office, Mrs. 'Mathato Makwate said the objective of the workshop is to orient the community leaders on how to deal with communities in a young democracy.

Mrs Makwate indicated that the workshop will equip the participants with skills that will empower them on how to use the available resources within their communities for the development of the communities. She stated that the targeted participants include spouses of Members of Parliaments for constituencies in the Thaba-Tseka district, spouses of chiefs in the district, female candidates who contested in the past general
elections and mid wives from villages.

The topics that will be covered at the workshop include Women Empowerment, HIV, Human Rights, Local government, and others. Similar workshops will follow in Mokhotlong,  Qacha's Nek,  Maseru and Mohale's Hoek. The first one took off in Leribe this week.
