DORCAS AID INTERNATIONAL (DAI) READY TO IMPLEMENT MORE RELIEF AID PROJECTS IN LESOTHO
 


The Dorcas Aid International Director for Relief and Agricultural Programs, Mr. Cees Oosterhuis who is based in Netherlands says now that DAI has established its new office in Lesotho they will be implementing a series of Relief Aid Projects in the country from January 2003.

Mr. Oosterhuis was addressing a Press Conference, which was held at the Office of the Dorcas Aid-Lesotho on Tuesday 26 November,2002. He said  some of the projects, which they are going to implement in the country, are HIV/AIDS Home Base Care Programs, School Children Feeding Scheme and Emergency Food Relief and Water and Sanitation Projects. He explained that for the HIV/AIDS program they would be working closely with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and facilitate the training of nurses who will be responsible for training people who would counsel
HIV/AIDS patients in the villages around the country.

The Director further showed that since his arrival in Lesotho on Thursday last week he has also met with the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture to discuss how Dorcas Aid could participate in Agric Projects in Lesotho. Mr. Oosterhuis told the Press Conference that Dorcas Aid is  a Christian Relief and Development Aid Faith-based Organisation. He showed that Dorcas Aid -Lesotho's primary objective is to empower the poor, oppressed and marginalized.
