CIVIL SERVANTS URGED TO PAVE LESOTHO'S WAY TO 2020

The Qacha's nek District Secretary, Mr. Lekhotla Ts'eane has called on the civil servants to give bright ideas that will pave Lesotho's way to the year 2020. Officially opening a five-day Vision 2020 workshop held at the Department of Education on Tuesday 10 September,2002 Mr. Ts'eane said their ideas would be more detailed because they give service to the public on daily basis and they know their problems. He said, "These problems should be broad enough to include hunger and poverty, incurable diseases, education and brain drain, communication problems and infrastructure".

Mr. Ts'eane, described the workshop as highly important because what will be implemented later would be based on the contributions they had made, but above all, they should not forget to find out the means of achieving everlasting peace in the country, which is a source of stability. The workshop had attracted civil servants from various departments in the district. Topics discussed included stable democratic rule, peace, good health, environment, economy and technology.
The group of civil servants followed that of traders. Other groups to follow include the disabled, the aged and the youth.
