The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Society of Lesotho (CIMASOL) will host a seminar for young Basotho Academics to be held at Maseru Sun from November 25 to 29. According to the Chairman of CIMASOL Mr. Tjonane Matla the objective of the seminar is to gauge the young Basotho Academics, Technicians and Professionals who are studying in Lesotho and South African Tertiary Institutions on their potentiality of establishing Locally  Owned Enterprises and Joined Ventures.

The Chairman  said CIMASOL has adopted the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants global theme of "Turning knowledge into profit" for use during the seminar. He further pointed out that CIMASOL believes that time has come for Lesotho to identify the products that could be manufactured and produced for the local and international market, using its own resources productively.Mr. Matla said the projects will bring   forth profitably at the same time  not ignoring the fact that skills could be imported where necessary.

Mr. Matla mentioned that the seminar is further expected to organize Lesotho's human resource towards productivity and economic growth, while on the other hand contributing towards the National Vision 2020. He said the human resource that Lesotho has in tertiary institutions can be empowered to establish enterprises such as in  manufacturing and agriculture, adding that through the seminar the learned young Basotho will formulate a strategy for job creation by exercising their national duty for the benefit of less educated people and create jobs for them.

Speakers for the seminar will address among other topics raising of capital and international trade, financing local enterprises and training, healthy environment for establishment of enterprises and engineering as a profession. Meanwhile, the first seminar was held last year and it addressed the theme "Globalization through E-Commerce".
