Lesotho-Republic of South Africa (RSA) Joint Bilateral Cooperation

 

Cabinet directed that, arrangements be made at the appropriate time, for a State visit to Lesotho by the President of the RSA, Thabo Mbeki, to further cement the relations between the two countries.

Cabinet directed that, Lesotho’s consolidated position on Sustainable Development be presented at the WSSD Conference in September, 2002.

Use of Computer Micro-Chip to Mark Livestock to Avert Stock Theft

 

Cabinet directed that, a Memorandum seeking approval to amend Section 5 (1) of the Stock Theft Act 2002, which has earmarking, branding and tattooing as the only registered marks for livestock and not the micro-chipping be submitted to
Cabinet.

Cabinet directed that, the Memorandum on the above should reflect the financial implications and the recommended company be compared to other companies that came for interviews.

Official Visit of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Director-General to Lesotho, 24-25 April, 2002

 

Cabinet directed that, although there are currently no projects funded by UNIDO, Lesotho should take advantage of the above-mentioned visit to Lesotho by the Director-General of UNIDO, Mr. Carlos Margarinos, to revive bilateral assistance from UNIDO.
