CABINET  APPROVALS: At its meeting on Tuesday 27 August, 2002 under “Memoranda”

 

1.         THE HIGH LEVEL STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON PREPARATIONS FOR THE 2002 WORLD SUMMIT ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, MASERU, LESOTHO            

            Memorandum C3(2002/6)34 by the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment.  

            Cabinet approved:  

(i)         That the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho should host the Post-WSSD High Level Stakeholders Meeting in mid-November, 2002;  

(ii)        that the M77,000-00, approved by Cabinet to support the Postponed High Level Stakeholders Meeting on Preparations for the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development, be used to support the Post-WSSD High Level Stakeholders Meeting.  

2.         RE-LOCATION OF THE LESOTHO SMART PARTNERSHIP HUB FROM THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, TRADE AND MARKETING TO THE OFFICE OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE THE PRIME MINISTER  

            Joint Memorandum C3(2002/6)35 by the Right Honourable the Prime Minister and the  Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Marketing.

              Cabinet approved:  

(a)       The re-location of Lesotho Smart Partnership Hub from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Marketing to the Office of the Right Honourable the Prime Minister; and  

(b)       The transfer of the human, material and financial resources to the Office of the Right Honourable the Prime Minister as part of the re-location process to facilitate operations of the Hub.

3.            HOSTING OF THE 24TH AFRICAN ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT (AAPAM) ANNUAL ROUNDTABLE CONFERENCE, 25 – 29 NOVEMBER, 2002  

            Memorandum C3(2002/6)36 by the Honourable Minister of the Public Service.  

            Cabinet approved:  

(a)       Hosting of the 24th African Association of Public Administration and Management Annual Roundtable Conference whose theme is “The African Public Service in the 21st Century – New Initiatives in Performance Management” scheduled for 25 to 29 November, 2002.

 

(b)       The use of M400,000.00 (Four Hundred Thousand Maluti) for hosting the Roundtable Conference
