  1.   PRIVATISATION SCHEMES OF EIGHT AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

 Joint Memorandum C3(2002/5)66 by the Honourable Ministers of Finance and of Development Planning and of Agriculture, Co-operatives and Land Reclamation.

           Cabinet approved: 

The Privatisation Schemes for sale and lease of the under-listed batch of six (6) Agricultural Enterprises to facilitate invitations of bids and related negotiations in accordance with the Privatisation Act and also the selling of equipment at Botšabelo Dairy Farm in Maseru:                  

a)     That Mejametalana Vegetable Farm in Maseru to be offered for sale by competitive bidding, preferably to a Mosotho or a local institutional investor; 

b)    That Tšalitlama Vegetable Farm in Mafeteng to be offered for sale by competitive bidding, preferably to a Mosotho or a local institutional investor;          

c)     That Molimo Nthuse Pony Trading and Trekking Centre in Maseru to be offered for sale by bidding that will be restricted preferably to Basotho tour/lodge operators in partnership with tour operators; 

     d) That Merino Sheep Stud Breeding Farm in Quthing to be leased, with an option to buy, to the National Wool and Mohair Growers’ Association;

 

e)     That Merino Sheep Stud Breeding Farm in Mokhotlong to be  leased, with an option to buy, to the National Wool and Mohair Growers’ Association;

 

 

That Wool and Mohair Marketing Facilities – 95 Wool Sheds to be leased, with an option to buy, to the National Wool and Mohair Growers’
