AIDS ORPHANS TO RECEIVE FOOD DONATION

The Prime Minister's wife, Mrs. 'Mathato Mosisili will lead a delegation comprising of the Minister of Agriculture, Cooperatives and Land Reclamation and  a Representative from the Chinese Community, who will donate food to the HIV/AIDS orphans and people living AIDS in Botha-Bothe on Thursday 24 October, 2002.

In an interview, the District Agricultural Officer, Mr. Motsamai Mokoto, said the donation is part of the campaign to help beneficiaries to help themselves so that they could feel that they are loved and cared for. Mr. Mokoto, said the beneficiaries would receive different kinds of food, as it is important that people living with HIV/AIDS eat nutritious food to boost their immune system. He said, "HIV/AIDS orphans also have to be given nutritious food because they have no one to provide for them unlike other children who have both parents working".

Mr. Mokoto, said the problem that they encounter is the number of orphans, which increases from time to time, adding that for this exercise they have to focus only on the AIDS orphans. The donation is funded by the Chinese business people and the Chinese Community.
